Quicksilver Theatre was formed in 1977 and is one of the most prolific producers of new-writing for children.
The clever set, well designed by Francisco Rodriquez-Weil, served the production well but presented obvious challenges for lighting. Not only was there a roof over the set, but images and films were projected onto the walls and roof. I had to not weaken the projections with light, but the roof made overhead lighting impossible. Birdies rigged in the front and side truss saved the day. Birdie barn doors are not to be laughed at, and MR16 lamps come in a surprising range of angles if you look hard enough. Apologies for the low quality photos taken from the back of the auditorium on our first preview.
